Human Interface Team

		Welcome to Human Interface The Human Interface Team at Rockwell Software provides a user-centered, multidisciplinary approach to software design. Team members have expertise in the areas of task analysis, user analysis, user interface design, paper prototyping, usability testing, and information development. Development teams we've worked with have produced Microsoft Windows, information, and hardware products, as well as web sites.
		Our design philosophy Too often, products are designed in isolation. We believe that product design is done best when people with various kinds of expertise -- including end users -- are involved. Developers, technical writers, graphic artists, usability specialists, and product marketing personnel should all be involved in initial product design. End user input to product design can be gathered from user and task analyses, focus groups, or inclusion in an actual product design exercise. 		Our place in the software development process Usability is not a one-time, monolithic activity that occurs at the end of product development to give management the "warm fuzzies." Instead, it is used throughout product development to ensure that product design is on track and meeting users' needs. Bringing us into your software development process at the design phase will result in a usability tested paper prototype within two weeks' time and about 120 man-hours.
