RSView32 Active Display Honored with Control Engineering 1998 Editors' Choice Award
Rockwell Software has been awarded the 1998 Editors' Choice Award by Control Engineering magazine for its RSView32 Active Display System client/server software.
Control Engineering's annual awards are presented to companies throughout the automation industry whose products demonstrate such attributes as service to the industry, technological advancement, overall market impact and technical innovation. In a congratulatory message to Rockwell Software, Jane Gerold, associate publisher and editorial director says, "As an award winner, your product is among the truly outstanding innovations that have been featured in Control Engineering, Control Engineering International, and Process Instrumentation Digest in which editors review hundreds of new product releases to select the winners."
RSView32 Active Display System is client/server software that easily adds to an existing or new RSView32 package to extend the functionality and reach of RSView32 Human Machine Interface (HMI) software. This client/server solution provides a powerful way to access an RSView32 project on a server from remote client sites on the plant floor, in the control room, from the managers office, or from anywhere in the world. With the Active Display Station, clients can either View and control, or just View the server, giving each operator access to the process control system with full security.
The RSView32 Active Display System allows viewing and interacting with real-time animated graphics, managing and controlling alarms, trends and set points, and performing global alarm management, including acknowledging alarms from any RSView32 client. It also allows managing all configuration files from a central location.
"We are very honored to have received this award from Control Engineering for the second consecutive year," stated Joe Bartolomeo, Marketing Lead for RSI's HMI Business, Rockwell Software, referring to the award RSI won last year for RSView32 with VBA. "This award demonstrates that RSView32 Active Display System is recognized throughout the industrial automation industry as the top software solution in its class. We feel that we have set the standards for Human Machine Interface (HMI) client/server software with its leading-edge technologies and overall innovation. With the MicrosoftÓ technologies such as ActiveX, VBA, and Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) incorporated into this product, we give the user much more functionality and interoperability."
