RSView Machine Edition
HMI for individual machines and small processes

Based on industry-leading RSView32 human-machine interface software (HMI) technology, RSView Machine Edition incorporates features, capabilities and design tools to support PC-based operator interface solutions for individual machines or small processes.

RSView Machine Edition addresses the growing demand of customers wanting an HMI solution with more flexibility and scalability than that found in dedicated boxes. It is the first product to support Rockwell Automation's ViewAnyWare strategy that combines Allen-Bradley operator interface hardware and Rockwell Software supervisory control to deliver visualization solutions for virtually any location in the factory.

Designed to run on Microsoft Windows 2000 and CE operating systems, RSView Machine Edition will utilize a common configuration environment that will configure future HMI platforms. This will ensure that RSView will be one of the most powerful and scalable HMI packages on the market for process monitoring and control systems. With the release of RSView Machine Edition, OEMs and machine designers will be able to develop powerful operator interface solutions scaled to their specific application needs.

• allows for a consistent operator interface across multiple platforms, and allows developers to re-use work and quickly make changes - reducing downtime and maintenance needs.
  
  
• provides a simple configuration environment and features rich graphical animation; and powerful graphical objects and functions provide operators with the power to monitor and control from the machine.
  
  
• provides support for both OLE for Process Control (OPC) technology and Microsoft ActiveX technology for added interoperability and customization. OPC specifications define standard objects, methods and properties for meeting interoperability requirements of applications. With built-in OPC technology, users can incorporate multiple vendor products into their control system.
  
  
• uses ActiveX technology that allows Machine Edition to act as a "container" for value-added ActiveX controls, including those available from Rockwell Software and third parties. This container capability allows the user to fully tailor and expand applications according to specific needs.
  
  
• is ideal for large end-users, OEMs, and Solution Providers working with a variety of applications such as packaging, fermentation, semiconductor bonding, casting, machining and similar processes.
