What is the RSI Preferred Server Program?
User Experience Team
The Rockwell Software Preferred Server Program (or PSP) is a coalition of companies lead by RSI to bring to market as many data servers as are required to meet your data solution needs. This includes RSI providing the tools needed to build a good data server to companies that are familiar with different pieces of hardware. The primary focus of this effort is in the realm of industrial controls and interfacing them with Windows™ based applications, including MMI's, data collection utilities, data analysis tools, and reporting mechanisms. By using a common basis for this implementation as provided by Rockwell, data server vendors can bring their product to market assured that it will work with all RSI products and regular Windows™ packages.
The User Experience Team at Rockwell Software provides a user-centered, multi-disciplinary approach to software design. Our areas of expertise include task and user analysis, user interface design, paper prototyping, usability testing, information development, and web design. We work closely with development teams to promote cross-product consistency and to promote the creation of effective and usable software, documentation, and web sites. Many of Rockwell Software's products have been tested in our usability lab, contain graphics from our visual interface designer, and offer both hardcopy and online documentation based on well-researched information guidelines. The User Experience Team's web site provides a detailed look into our design process, several downloadable papers and presentations, and brief biographical information about each of the team members.
